A love story that started at a Super Bowl party six years ago. Delaney and Britain clicked right away and found themselves drawn to each other all night. However, they chalked it up to liquid courage and went their separate ways. 2 years after, they found themselves in the same town and at the same house for a mutual friend’s party. As fate decided to bring them back together, they decided to give it a try and the rest is history.

As cliche as it sounds, it truly felt meant to be and I’ve loved every second of the past 4 years by his side!”

“One of the first things Britain and I found ourselves in a conversation over years ago was our love for traveling.”

Britain is a pilot and Delaney have always struggled to keep her feet planned in one place. The couple spent their first year together travelling nearly half the US and the Virgin Islands. For their next adventure, Britain was eager to plan it as he wanted it to be a surprise. Seeing the northern lights has always been in Delaney’s top bucket list, thanks to Britain, a trip to Iceland was then happened.

During their second day, a full day of hiking was planned for their itinerary. It was a hike up to a lighthouse to see the overlook. During the hike, it took a lot of tries for Britain to get Delaney to “stop and take in the scenery”, however, she was too determined to make it to the top and didn’t let any persuasion to stop her. Once they finally made it to the top, Britain convinced her to stand near the edge of the cliff for photos. When Delaney was climbing over the gate to the “Off limits” area, Britain discreetly set up his Go-Pro and started recording. He walked up to where Delaney was standing, the moment he said “Delaney Alyse Buckman”, she immediately knew what was going to happen, “He proposed overlooking the ocean and the most beautiful black sand beach.”

“What I would call short and sweet.”

Delaney went to two bridal shops, on her first trip, she went to look around to see if they had the dress she had always imagined. After multiple trials, she left the store empty handed as the dresses she tried on did not felt like hers. Luckily, the second store she went to had Liam on the racks and immediately fell in love with it: “I saved it for last and as soon as I put it on, walked out, and looked in the mirror, I knew she was mine!” Liam was the perfect blend of what she always wanted and never knew she needed.

The couple envisioned an ultimate family reunion where all of their closest friends were invited. Tacos, pizza, smiles and laughters, and dancing the night away was the climax of their reception – it was “the night of our lives.”

Highlights from your wedding day

The couple did not carry-on specific tradition, however, they kept small intimate details that held significant meaning for them and their families. Delaney described their reception and spending with their favourite people as the highlight of their wedding day – a day full of love and happiness.

Preparations and Inspirations

“Our real priority for our wedding was our people and that they felt welcomed and loved - the rest was just a bonus.”

A reflection of their personalities, experiences, and adventures became their inspiration when planning wedding. Neutral tones, wildflowers, and the beauty of natural grasses was also reflected to complete their minimalistic and elegant theme.

Honeymoon

We have not decided on a destination as of now! Our two ideas are the Dominican Republic or Tulum, Mexico.

One of my favorite pieces of advice that helped calm my nerves on my wedding day was to plan for 3 things to not go as planned. This kept me from obsessing and stressing over the few little things that didn’t go perfectly as planned. I strongly suggest spending intentional time with just your significant other at some point during your wedding day! It goes by extremely fast and it helped the day slow down, even if it was just for 5 or 10 minutes! Invest in photos and a video of your wedding day!! It lets you relive all the little in between moments.
