“It is a bit of a funny story!”

The couple were in Italy celebrating their 5th year anniversary when Jack proposed. Jack is in the Air Force and got deployed in May. In June, he was given a date when they would be flying back, Bridget immediately booked their two-week Italy vacation. A few days later, Jack’s team needed to tend an emergency order to another location, which delayed their planned vacation for four weeks. “It was definitely a bit stressful trying to coordinate a trip with someone who is on the other side of the world”

Luckily, everything worked out and the two had a wonderful time! They spent their last day in Capri at a beach club, had dinner, and had some gelato while walking around. Before the day ends, they stopped at an overlook, famous for its views of Faraglioni, and that’s where Jack asked the question.

“Amazing! I actually bought my dress from the boutique I work at.”

Fun fact: Bridget works for Fabulous Frocks Shreveport which is one of our US retailers!

Bridget had her appointment with Jacqui, the owner of the store, three months after she started her job. “It was kind of funny going from helping brides to being the bride but Jacqui treated me just like any other bride.” When the sample gown of her dress, Laura, arrived at the stop, she definitely was eyeing it a lot. And after saying yes to the dress, she couldn’t help but slip it back on every once in a white. See folks, that’s the beauty of working at a bridal shop!

From the very beginning of planning, the couple always wanted the focus to be about their love and the special people celebrating with them, “we really just wanted everyone to have a good time”. The reception was held in the barn at the venue. Bridget enjoyed adding special touches to the space to make it unique for them, “I especially loved our sweetheart table set up”. Once they were introduced as newlyweds, they had their first dance, and her dad did a welcome toast which turned into parent dances. From there, they had the Best Man and Maid of Honours’ speeches (her two sisters were her maid of honours), followed by dinner and more dancing – “the whole day just flowed very seamlessly.”

Highlights from your wedding day

Favourite moment: Reading their vows.

Although they only had 90 guests, the two felt like they were the only ones present during the exchange of vows: “It was so special!”

A special something for their dog Minnie:

Their dog couldn’t be there, and Bridget knew she wanted to include her somehow! They prepared a personalized cocktail napkins with Minnie on them! How cute is that?!?

Preparations and Inspirations

Pinterest & Instagram was her main platform to look for inspirations! She has Pinterest boards and a saved album on Instagram, “anytime I would come across a pic I loved, I would save it!

A classic and timeless wedding with a touch of personal details was the overall theme of the wedding. Bridget chose to have lots of whites and greenery which complemented the scenery of the venue.

Honeymoon

The couple are planning on going to Bali in May for 10 days and will be stopping in Tokyo during their 3-day layover.

From Bridget

Make a plan with your fiancé to never leave each other's side the whole night.  Have some time with just you two.

After the ceremony we snuck off into the house where everyone got ready and just had 15 minutes together before going to cocktail hour (we also had our planner bring us some food which was nice because we were both so hungry.

Be prepared for something to go wrong, just don’t let it ruin your day!

Special thanks to:

I actually found our venue through Instagram, so when I needed other vendors, I would search a ton of hashtags. Definitely would recommend using Instagram as a search engine for planning, you can find anything you need on it!
