Lesli + Jimmy Microwedding

Mountain views, an open space style venue, bohemian-styled wedding, and earthy tone colour palette. Lesli and Jimmy’s micro wedding was as breathtaking as it was filled with love and laughter.

Jimmy and Lesli met on an online dating app, but according to Lesli: “it honestly felt like it was faith when we met seven years ago”. It was an instant connection for the both of them and they immediately knew they had something special. Jimmy took the time to peel back her layers and wanted to get to know her for everything that she is. One of the things that Jimmy asked her on their first date was, what are some of your dreams in life – she told him, “I wanted to travel and see the world”, and his response was, “‘let’s do it together. I will travel the world with you”. It was only their first date and she didn’t think he was serious “or maybe he was just trying to kidnap me LOL jk”.

Just a month into their relationship, Jimmy kept his promise about wanting to show her the world. They decided to take a leap of faith and travel to her motherland, Vietnam, together. Unfortunately, the trip didn’t turn out as glamorous as they hoped. Lesli got really sick, but Jimmy never left her side. “In that moment, I knew he was the one nd that’s when we first said ‘I love you’ to one another. And now here they are 7 years later as husband and wife.

Since then, they have travelled to 7 countries together, gone through long distances, lived together and even started a business together. Their bond grew stronger with each of these adventures.

Jimmy has been planning the proposal for a long time, but because of the pandemic, a lot of their travel plans got cancelled. When they got the opportunity to go to Hawaii with Lesli’s best friend and fiance, Jim knew that this was the moment he was waiting for. Jimmy had the engagement ring on him throughout the trip and was waiting for the right moment to pop the question. There was no intention in doing the proposal where Jim ended up doing it.

After a good meal at Huli Huli chicken stand, their bellies led them to a beautiful dark red sand beach, Koki Beach. They had the beach all to themselves aside from a few local surfers, and even the sun came out for them. Jimmy had asked Lesli’s best friend to take pictures and gave her a wink – “it was such an incredible moment to share with my best friend and her fiance. I was shocked, happy and touched all at the same time”. There were a lot of happy tears – the local surfers were cheering and even came by to congratulate them!

“I wished I could say it was an easy process, but it was definitely a rollercoaster ride!”

Together with her bridal party, went to tons of fitting appointments trying to find the perfect dream dress. Upon dozens of wedding dresses, none of them really spoke to her or felt like her. Just when she was about to lose hope, they visited Cameo and Cufflinks. Her stylist picked out a Lis Simon’s Lizzy dress for her to try on – “I was honestly speechless when I tried it on and it really made me feel beautiful. At that moment, I knew that was my dream dress”.

08. 08. 2022 at Tacansina Ranch

Just a month after their engagement, the couple were looking at venues and found the perfect one for their intimate wedding. They couldn’t wait any longer and locked in the date for THAT summer (aka, it would be 2 months until their wedding date). “We felt crazy”, they went full out in wedding planning mode and were able to pull off all the wedding details with the help of their family and friends.

It was a quaint, beautiful ranch night by Ghost Lake. They were looking for a venue that would be perfect to celebrate their untraditional, quirky and unique wedding. Dinner was held in a beautiful gazebo, “they also had a lot of green space where we were able to play wedding games and take photos, and a campfire for s’mores!”

It was two days of night-long patrying, slow dancing, and s’mores over the campfire.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM YOUR SPECIAL DAY

Anecdotes from the bride:

We had a two day wedding. The first day was the wedding rehearsal and the second was the big day!
For the first day, we played a lot of wedding games to break the ice between our families and friends. There was twerk pong, flip cup and a lot of other wedding games!! We ended the night with karaoke with our loved ones.
For the second day, first look with the parents + bridal party, letter to the parents, ceremony + confetti toss + champagne pop, first dance with mom and dad, sparklers send off.

Seeing their families and friends come together to help create their dream wedding made their day extra special. “The wedding speeches were so beautiful – there was not a dry eye in the room and the first dances with our parents”.

Pinterest and Instagram were the two platforms that helped Lesli envisioned her dream wedding – “I have saved so many posts on my phone. I literally felt like a wedding planner”

HONEYMOON

“As you may have noticed, we are a very ambitious couple and we like doing things quickly!” The couple left the day after their wedding for their honeymoon.

“It was just nice to relaze and have quality time together after two months of crazy wedding planning”.
