Lis Simon Bride Logan
THE LOVE STORY
In the autumn of 2014, Logan and Cooper’s story began in the simplest of settings – a college bar. Amidst the unremarkable beginnings of a new semester, their paths intertwined through mutual friends. The day Cooper found out his family was moving to Edmonton, Alberta, fate brought them together.
Despite Cooper’s reluctance to dive into anything serious, a genuine connection happened when they first met. Six months into their journey, Cooper took a leap, moving in with Logan’s family to pursue education at their shared college. What started as an unexpected encounter blossomed into a beautiful companionship.
THE PROPOSAL
September 12, 2021
On the initial day of their vacation at a Cochrane cabin in Alberta, just an hour or so outside of Calgary, Logan and Cooper ventured down to the Ghost River for breakfast. It was there that Cooper, unexpectedly and much to Logan’s surprise, popped the question on a Monday of all days. Despite the shock, Logan couldn’t help but poke fun at him: “It was very unexpected, as most engagements are. I always make fun of him because he proposed on a Monday”.
Overwhelmed with surprise, Logan, still in a state of shock, didn't catch a word of Cooper’s proposal. Instead, her immediate reaction was a series of repeated questions: “My only response was asking him repeatedly if he was sure. I’m sure I asked him if he was sure he wanted to marry me 8 times before answering”.
THE DRESS
The experience was fantastic. The moment she tried on her first Lis Simon dress, the realization struck – “I knew this was the designer for me”. Logan began to find the ideal combination of separates to bring her vision to life. “I loved that I could combine two different dresses to make the perfect one”.
Separates Combo: SS605 Bodice paired with customized SS410 Skirt + SS218 Detachable Skirt
WEDDING & RECEPTION
July 29, 2023 at Fieldstone at Bench Brewing Company, Lincoln, Ontario
The couple’s reception was a small and intimate affair, purposely crafted to revolve around family – “we didn’t want all of the day’s attention on us”.
FAVOURITE MOMENTS
Anecdotes from the bride:
We had private vows, a first look, and signed our wedding license privately.
Our first look and having a few moments by ourselves throughout the day.
Also, including our dog in the ceremony. It helped to break the tension.
We’re not fans of having a lot of attention directly on us for very long, so having our dog (our Frenchie, Winston) as part of our ceremony was the perfect way to break some of the tension.
PREPARATIONS & INSPIRATIONS
They aimed for a modern, romantic, and elegant wedding, shaping their vision around a colour scheme of black, white, and green. Drawing inspiration from their surroundings, they incorporated natural greenery, and luck played its part: “we were lucky enough to have some hops from the brewery integrated into all of our floral arrangements to carry out the theme and the environment we were in”.
With the help of Lindsay Plank Events and inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest boards, they envisioned their wedding and shaped the overall theme and aesthetic of their special day.
HONEYMOON
On their first anniversary, Logan + Cooper has exciting plans for a honeymoon. A beach vacation is in the works, and “it MUST be all inclusive”.
Special thanks to:
We found our vendors primarily on Instagram. We did have to change florists a few weeks before the wedding and the amazing Roses and Twine was a recommendation from our Wedding Planner.
