These high school sweethearts definitely made their dreams come true! We caught up with Hailee — an absolute beauty — to ask about her love story and the preparations for her special day!

L O V E S T O R Y

Hailee + Jordan are high school sweethearts and were acquaintances from 9th to 10th grade. The two met at a demolition derby through mutual friends that summer going into their 11th grade. Over the course of their friendship, Hailee had told him they “would never date”, but shortly after, he convinced her to go on a date with him. Their love story ensued and the rest is history.

T H E P R O P O S A L

June 24th, 2021

The couple live on a farm – Jordan is a 4th generation farmer and they have a lot of land that Hailee would walk out back all the time with their golden retriever named Dezel. Normally, Dezel never comes with her, but one evening, he decided to come with them. During the whole walk, Jordan was walking behind Hailee and had his hands in his pockets, but she never thought anything about it. He wanted to propose during their walk, but got too nervous that he forgot the shirt he was supposed to put on their puppy. By the time they got back to their house, Jordan quickly put the shirt on their golden retriever while Hailee was away. When she got back, Jordan immediately said: “look at this shirt I put on Dezel”, and read “Will you marry Dad?” — Hailee turned around and saw Jordan at the top of their steps, down on one knee.

“It was so enchanted being just the two of us in the house we remodelled together with the puppy we had just got together about to start our future.”

T H E D R E S S

Separates Combo: SS405 Bodice + SS410 Skirt.

It was unbelievable. Finery Bridal Chic was so friendly and really let me experiment with the dresses I tried on.

With Hailee’s dress, she didn’t actually get to see the full combination together until after she had already ordered it. She had chosen a separates combo that was not yet sewed together. The dress was truly altered to her liking. Choosing a separate combo truly made Hailee feel that she was making her own dress.

W E D D I N G & R E C E P T I O N

August 6th, 2022 at St John’s Lutheran Church

St John’s Lutheran Church holds two important events that happened in their lives: one, it is Jordan's school, and two, it is where his parents got married. “This place holds a special place in my husband's heart and I am so glad we had our ceremony there.”

The reception took place at a local campground called, BJ’s Whippoorwill Kampground. “It was very much our style when it comes to being laid back and just wanting to have a big get together, AKA a big party”. The venue also had cabins that their family and friends could rent out if desired.

 HIGHLIGHTS FROM YOUR SPECIAL DAY

Anecdotes from the Bride:

One thing that was unique was that I walked myself down the aisle. I did not have a maid of honour. We had the ceremony at the same place my husband’s parents got married.
One of my favourite moments was my first look with my husband because he didn’t cry but was just so amazed at how beautiful I looked including my butt.
Also another favourite moment was dancing the night away together and really just being surrounded by our family and our friends. Because the grand entrances of our wedding party and us really get the party going.

PREPARATIONS AND INSPIRATIONS

It was simple and huge. Nothing special about it.

Hailee + Jordan didn’t have a specific theme in mind. They just wanted their true personalities to shine because they both have different styles that needed to be compromised. The wedding colours were both of their favourite colours put together. His is orange and hers is blue, and they looked fabulous together — it had an elegant and rustic vibe.

Hailee’s main source of inspiration was Pinterest for anything DIY, and TikTok for trends that they both loved and added a little twist to make it more personal.


HONEYMOON

The couple had a mini honeymoon since their actual honeymoon didn’t happen until January 2023. They travelled up north to Duluth and stayed there for a long weekend. Cancun, Mexico was their next destination and stayed at the Breathless Rivera Cancun – “it was the most beautiful place we have ever been”. The resort had over 11 places to eat, great food, amazing staff, and Hailee + Jordan were treated like royalty! Definitely a complete package!

My tip would be that something will go wrong on your day and it will be something that you can’t control and that is okay. You get to marry the person you love today and that is all that matters.Soak in every moment because the next thing you know the moment will be gone and you want to remember every second of the day.
Also that your dress will get dirty no matter or no matter how much you try not to get it dirty it will somehow get dirty and that is okay!

Honestly I feel like that is the best way to go about it because the repetition and how you treat someone on the most special day goes a long way.
