Cameo & Cufflinks
We are featuring Cameo & Cufflinks as our Store of the Month for October! They are our local boutique here in Calgary, Alberta. The owner, Jessalynn, answered some questions for us and here is what she said.
Why and how did you start Cameo & Cufflinks?
I worked in bridal while going to University and loved it! I continued to work at Cameo & Cufflinks even after I graduated and started working in my field. I got back from maternity leave and just didn't like the corporate atmosphere and the need to be constantly working late (which took me away from my family) and travel. I always joked with the previous owner that I would buy the business from her one day, and right when I was looking to transition away from the company I was with, the owner decided she wanted to sell the store!

Sleek & sophisticated meets sassy.
What is your favourite part about your job?
Every day is different.
What tips would you offer brides?
Be true to who you are and don't be swayed by other people's opinions.
What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
Overskirts! They're two looks in one!
What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2018 collection and why?
Jude. It has the right amount of sass with sleek sophistication.
What are you hoping to see in the Lis Simon 2019 collection?
I would love to see something short and playful!
Any exciting news in regards to Cameo & Cufflinks?
We were just notified that we won bridal store of the year for Southern Alberta by Global Wedding Awards proudly hosted by LUX Life Magazine and we are very excited about that!
What do the next few months have in store for Cameo & Cufflinks?
The season truly kicks off with our largest annual gown sale of the year happening at the Bridal Expo. We take 150 gowns and blow them out at 40%-90% off. We will also be heading to Regina in October for our second annual blowout sale. We cannot wait to share sneak-a-peeks with all the brides of what's being showcased during the October bridal market in New York!
