Effie's Bridal Trunk
This month we’re featuring Effie’d Bridal Trunk as our store of the month! Located in Burnsville, Minnesota, this boutique carries our separate pieces, as well as our collection gowns. Paula, the owner, answered some questions for us about her shop!
Why and how did you start Effie’s Bridal Trunk?
Owning a Bridal store had always been a dream I wanted to pursue. As most do, you find yourself in a career that makes you happy but doesn’t fully fulfill ones soul. Due to an unfortunate accident many years ago, My husband and I decided to make my dream a reality. The name “Effie” comes from a nickname my loving Grandfather gave me as a little girl.
Describe your store in four words.
Elegant. Sophisticated. Fashionable. Welcoming.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy being a part of the memorable moments our brides experience when they walk through the door. I also enjoy being able to work along side my husband of 33 years and team of amazing consultants.
What tips would you offer brides?
Our brides always come first throughout their experience with us. We communicate with the bride throughout her appointment and make sure she is enjoying her special moment. We are on the brides side and a part of her tribe during the visit. We like to reinforce to brides that no matter if they get their gown here or another store, to always follow your intuition. Opinions of others can play a role in being indecisive and confused on the brides vision of her big day and what she sees herself walking down the aisle in.
What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
We are seeing a lot of color and appliqués throughout the dress rather than the sheet lace designs and styles.
What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2019 collection?
Our favourite dress from the 2019 collection is hands down the Kendall dress. The beautiful beading and unique design steal the show! Recently we were in a fashion show in front of thousands and paired Kendall with the SS218 overskirt. Beautiful combination. This gown is VERY popular with our brides.
What are you hoping to see in the Lis Simon 2020 collection?
We are hoping for continued unique designs, appliqués, and bead work. Lis Simon is a standout designer we have in our store. Our brides love these gowns and we can’t wait for the new collection!
Any exciting news/upcoming events?
Our recent Nationwide Bridal Sales Event was a huge success! Market is soon approaching, and we are excited to get new products and designers in store. We will soon be rolling out our NEW and UPDATED website and some other fun additions to the store.
We will be sponsoring and showcasing our gowns in front of thousands on the runway at The Wedding Fair on October 13th at the Minneapolis Convention Center. We are also looking forward to some really fun promotions and sales within the next few months that will keep our brides excited and smiling!
