Something White Bridal Boutique
For March's Store of the Month, we are featuring Something White Bridal! They are a cute little boutique located in Kansas City, Missouri. Brittany, the Owner, answered some questions for us!
How and when did you start Something White Bridal Boutique?
I worked in a bridal store through college and fell in love with my job, but after graduation I knew I needed to get a "big girl career" and went into corporate America. My father is a small business owner and because of him it was a goal of mine to open my own business, but I had to put this on pause to financially establish myself first. Three years after sitting at a desk day in and day out I knew I needed a change. I thought about how much I loved my job in college and knew that was what I wanted to do. In February 2014 I went home one day after work and approached my husband with, "what do you think about me opening a bridal boutique?" He quickly said, "well, work out all the details and numbers and if you know you can make it work let's do it." Both God and my husband have been my support and rock through this journey and because of them I officially opened our doors in August 2014. The journey ever since has been one that still leaves me speechless. The amount of women we have met along the way who hold special places in our hearts will always be the most rewarding part. I am forever grateful to each and every bride of ours who have allowed us to be a part of their love story.
Describe your store in four words.
Intimate, classic, comfortable, honest.
What is your favourite part about your job?
The ability for us to provide the best bridal shopping experience to each woman that walks through our doors. That moment when the bride finds her gown will never get old.
What tips would you offer brides?
Less is more. Don't overwhelm yourself with scheduling too many appointments in one day. Schedule two appointments maximum because dress shopping can be emotionally and physically tiring. Your entourage will thank you for it as well, we promise. Speaking of entourage, only bring those people in your life whose opinions matter most to you. If you're worried about anyone feeling left out, don't forget there are a lot of exciting things to come with your bridal attire. Bring those extra people with you to help you pick out accessories once your gown has arrived.
What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
We are loving the plunging necklines. Of course it has to be tastefully done, but when it is there is something so feminine about the fit.
What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2017 collection and why?
India - I'm a sucker for ball gowns and there are so many romantic details about India that I love.
