The White Gallery

This month we’re featuring The White Gallery as our Store of the Month! They are located in Edmonton, Alberta, and carry some of our best carry-overs, separates, and 2019 gowns. Chantelle, the owner answered some of our questions, and here’s what she said!

Why and how did you start The White Gallery?
The White Gallery has been a dream of mine over five years in the making that finally came to life in the fall of 2018.  I wanted to create an upscale bridal experience where you will discover luxuriously constructed wedding gowns chosen for the modern bride seeking effortless elegance and style.  Having a background in design, this was a natural process for me to transition into opening the boutique. I had envisioned the look of the gallery long ago, and seeing my vision unfold and being able to share this with you has been one of the most absolute surreal feelings!  Although at times things were not easy getting it off of the ground, this is truly my passion and a labour of love. I hope that brides will love The White Gallery as much as I have loved creating it!

Describe your store in four words.
Curated. Intimate. Relaxing. Elevated.

What do you love most about your job?
I love working one on one with brides, and having the opportunity to really get to know them on a personal level.  They walk in strangers, but often leave as a friend. When you get invited to their engagement party, shower or even their wedding -  it is so rewarding and makes you feel like you have done something right! Having played a small role in their day and being there when they find ‘the dress’ it truly is magical!

What tips would you offer brides?
I would always tell brides to choose a dress that reflects your own personal style and will be an extension of your personality on your wedding day.  Stay away from garments if there are elements to it that will make you feel self conscious, or if you are simply following a trend and does not embody the vision you have for yourself the day of.  Also when choosing your dress, I would suggest only bringing a few key people to your appointment whom you truly value their opinion and are going to have your best interest in mind.

What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
Right now I am loving the two-in-one look.  Being able to go from a dramatic look to a simple one.

What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2019 collection and why?
My favourite gown from the 2019 collection would have to be 'Keegan'.  This gown hits in all the right places and gives every woman such an amazing shape!  It is so unique with lots of visual interest. I have dubbed this gown ‘The Great Gatsby’ dress!

What are you hoping to see in the Lis Simon 2020 collection?
I am absolutely loving all of the Art Deco inspired laces in this new collection such as Keegan & Kendall, these pieces are so unique and nothing like you have ever seen before - I would definitely love to see more of it!
