Love and Lee
It’s September! Can you believe in four months it will be 2021 already?! Well, I must say - I can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for us. For this month, our fellow Canadian Love and Lee is featured as our Store of The Month! You can find their boutique in the heart of Downtown Cornwall, Ontario. Be prepared as they will “make memories, then make your jaws drop”.
Why and how did you start/acquire Love and Lee?
I wanted to bring a cool and fresh vibe to the area so brides never have to compromise service or fun experience because of where they live.
Love and Lee opened its doors on December 16, 2019. I started Love and Lee Bridal boutique as a way of bringing a big city, chic bridal boutique feel to a smaller city (Cornwall, Ontario). Although we are a young boutique, we have already been fortunate enough to service many brides that have appreciated our service level, and experience!
Describe your boutique in four words.
Fun. Fresh. Inclusive. Memorable.
What do you love most about your job?
The moment that a bride finds a dress she feels completely confident in, and none of her insecurities seem to matter anymore. That gets me every time.
What tips would you offer brides?
A lot of brides ask me how far in-advance they should start looking for their wedding dress. My advice is that you know yourself, how decisive you are, how thorough you like to be when making big decisions, and whether you have to accommodate to travel out of town to visit bridal stores. You should always take these factors into consideration when deciding when to start searching. I usually recommend that you start your search sooner than later to avoid any last-minute stress.
What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
We are loving floral prints and blush tones right now. They are so beautiful for Spring and Summer weddings.
What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2020 collection and why?
We love Leighton! I have been a big fan of Keegan from Lis Simon’s 2019 collection, and loved how it fit so many different body shapes. Now Leighton is a new favourite of ours because of it’s similar shape, shimmer, and delicate off the shoulder sleeves.
What are you hoping to see in the Lis Simon 2021 collection?
We would love to see a few Lis Simon pieces on curvy brides online! About 50% of our brides are curvy so it’s always great for them to be able to “pin” or save dresses they think will flatter their shape to show us at their appointment, and lead them to Lis Simon.
Any exciting news or upcoming events for Love and Lee?
We have re-opened for bridal appointments following our closure due to Covid-19, so that is very exciting for us! We have lots of promotions for front-line workers and teachers as a thank you for their service throughout the epidemic. Furthermore our apparel boutique at the front of the shop is also re-open to the public so women can shop for dresses, rompers, jumpsuits and other fun gifts!
What do the next few months have in store for Love and Lee?
We are in for a very busy Summer season! We are continuously bringing in more styles for brides of all sizes, and are in the process of launching our mother of the bride dresses, formal shoes, undergarments, bridesmaids, and wedding guest dresses so that everyone can have a cool place to shop for their wedding needs!
