Why and how did you start/acquire Ladies of Lineage
Ladies of Lineage began as a consignment bridal boutique and was first known as “Lineage Bridal.” At the foundation of our bridal salon was the concept of passing down a sentimental piece – a bride’s wedding gown -- to another beautiful bride, thereby creating a lineage. We soon became known as the Ladies of Lineage. We began to notice more and more brides interested in purchasing a new gown, so we began to pick up full designer collections to meet our brides’ needs.

What do you love most about your job?
A wedding day is a moment that most women dream of their entire lives. To us, it is a huge honor to play such a special role in a bride’s big day. Each bride is uniquely herself, and we absolutely love helping brides create a look that reflects their spirit & personality to fully complete their dream look!
What tips would you offer brides?
Come with an open mindset: more times than not, our brides “say yes” to a gown completely different than anything they expected or saved to their Pinterest boards. Having an open mindset to different shapes & styles will allow a bride to fall in love with a design they may never have picked off-the-rack for themselves.
Limit your party size (aka opinions): While a few opinions are important to finding your gown, the more guests you bring to your bridal appointments, the more opinions you’ll have to sort through. Our expert advice: bring the 2-3 people whose advice you’ll value more than anyone else’s. Once you’ve found the gown, loop in everyone else – they’ll have no choice but to send positive words your way!
What is your current favorite wedding dress trend?
We are LOVING the comeback of bold shoulders. The 80s were known for their massive puff sleeves – we are seeing a return of a puff sleeve/bold shoulder, but in a more tailored and toned-down way. It makes a unique fashion statement & photographs beautifully.
Another wedding trend we are loving right now is the micro-wedding. We’ve been amazed at our brides’ creativity to roll with the punches 2020 threw their way & create beautiful, memorable, and intimate micro weddings. With the scaled down weddings, it’s more important ever to have a wedding gown that makes a statement!
What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2021 collection and why?
Can we pick one in each silhouette – haha! It’s almost impossible to pick a favorite, since the 2021 collection is so versatile, so we will pick one lace gown and one clean gown.
Our favorite lace gown is the Madilyn. We’ve yet to see another gown like it and is a true statement. We also think it would be gorgeous with or without sleeves & can stand alone as the gown itself without having to over-accessorize. We also love the Maria gown. The Maria is elegant, effortless, and timeless. The off the shoulder neckline exudes feminism and it’s the perfect balance of a draped look versus a fitted look.
What wedding trends are you noticing brides doing in your area?
Since most brides in our area are still scaling back on the size of their wedding, they are putting more importance and thought into their wedding gowns. Most gowns are allocating more of their wedding budgets to their wedding look versus other things, such as flowers, food, or rentals. Brides have been so creative with how they are styling their looks from head to toe. I think there is some peace in knowing that the gown decision is one that they can control, when there are so many other unknowns in their planning process.

Sample Showroom for 3 weeks beginning on March 12th, where our lightly used samples, along with tons of bridal accessories, will be deeply discounted. Unlike the hysteria of the sample sales on “Say Yes to the Dress,” our Pop-Up Sample Sale will be private appointments, and give the same tailored experience of our regular showroom appointments.
What do the next few months have in store for Ladies of Lineage?
We will be making some big M O V E S into a new space in 2021. We will be divulging on all the exciting news in the next few weeks.
