“We love fine dining so having dinner reservations wasn’t unusual”.
As the couple had dinner reservations, Sarah went to Todd’s house since it was closer to the restaurant. She suspected something was up when her sister-in-law went into labour. Her mom insisted on not cancelling their dinner reservations to come to the hospital. When Sarah arrived at Todd’s apartment, she was greeted by an unexpected surprise: flowers and flower petals, champagne, balloons, and the most awaited question, “will you marry me?”.
“It was so special. I loved finding out afterward all of the efforts he went into to make it happen and how he had made sure to ask my 2 sons’ permission before he asked me”. So, what made it more special? Her niece was born on the same day! “We will always share our engagement day with her birthday”.

“Pure magic”
Lace Bridal went beyond her expectations. Sarah was able to find a gown that made her feel like herself but also like the perfect bride, “it was hands down on my favourite part about wedding planning”. It was a full bridal moment with tears, is what Sarah described it to be. The moment she put Kendall on, she immediately knew it was the one, “it took me by surprise that I had such an emotional reaction to a dress as my husband would tell you, I am very rarely a crier”.

Reception: A favourite restaurant in their hometown, The Caroline Restaurant.
“There was a simple toast by my maid of honour, but otherwise just a cheerful gathering”.
The reception was a sit-down dinner as they wanted to make it a comfortable celebration. The couple rented out a portion at the restaurant and offered a 4-course meal for their guests. Supporting a local business was important for them especially with the challenges that 2020 has brought.
Highlights From Your Special Day
Sarah and Todd included a ring warming leading up to the ceremony. Fun fact: the ceremony was only about 10 minutes! They included a family vow to include her two sons and it made everything pretty special. A photo session was also included PLUS a beautiful furniture prop! The couple had scheduled a separate time to take photos for their family to allow a less rushed and quieter space.
“It is out of the ordinary (we did it two days after the actual ceremony), but I am so glad we did this! It allowed for us to make sure we got all the photos of our family unit we wanted without the hustle and bustle”.
From the beginning to the end, Sarah felt blessed and couldn’t be more thankful that their special day still went on despite of the pandemic: “Getting married during a Pandemic was never in the original cards, but we were able to have the most perfect intimate ceremony with 32 guests”.
Sarah’s brother officiated their ceremony which made it as her most unexpected favourite moment, “he got a little emotional at the beginning and it just set the tone for a romantic ceremony”.
Preparations and Inspirations
“I just wanted it to feel romantic”.
Florals with deep fall colours, a musician playing a violin, and a wedding day planned on a full moon are the epitome of perfection as Sarah described.
“Mostly inspired by fall and some subtle art deco influences with a little Instagram thrown in. My vendors were wonderful in accommodating my ideas that I wanted something unique, that spoke to us and felt timeless”.
Honeymoon
We did postpone our honeymoon TBD until traveling feels a bit safer. We joke that every vacation from now on is a honeymoon :)

Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and only include what really speaks to you as a couple.
Special thanks to:
I booked my photographer first because I have worked with Ashley before and knew I wouldn’t settle for anyone else! I had also worked with Lost and Found previously and they graciously recommended my florist. Being a close-knit community I really knew of my other vendors just from other events in the area.
