More 2 Love Bridal
Elevating the bridal gown shopping experience for curvy, mid-size & plus size brides is what these chosen ladies believe in. For the month of August, we are featuring More 2 Love Bridal and their passion on catering to curvy brides to make them feel beautiful and confident. All curvy brides deserve to be welcomed in a safe space and that is why More 2 Love Bridal is here for. They are located in Lakeshore West Blvd in Ontario. So, if you’re planning on getting married, or a friend helping your bride pick out her dress, More 2 Love Bridal will make sure to give you an ultimate VIP treatment until you say “Yes” to your dream wedding dress.
Why and how did you start/acquire More 2 Love Bridal?
After working in the bridal industry for over 15 years, we saw a void in the retail space for brides over a street size 14. More 2 Love Bridal was started because we believe dress size should have no correlation to your dress shopping experience.
One of our goals is for all our brides to have a memorable experience and to feel more confident after they leave our store. Our brides are not limited to A-lines and Ball Gowns. We have a varied selection of gowns, in the same way a straight size boutique would but we offer samples that range from bridal size 16-36, something we’re very excited about.
Curvy, mid-size and plus-size brides deserve an elevated experience and to have that “yes” moment in a store created just for them. We opened our doors March of 2021 and are eagerly awaiting post-covid times when we can welcome all of our patient brides back into the boutique again.
Describe your boutique in four words?
elevated, inclusive, fun, intimate
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting our brides from all walks of life and hearing how much they appreciate having a safe and fun space to shop. They are often so surprised that they are able to try on a wide range of samples. They are so excited to be able to walk through an entire store and not have to talk about size and whether the samples will fit them - this is our WHY. Being surrounded by pretty gowns is also a major bonus.
What tips would you offer brides?
While Dress Shopping
Come with an open mind and allow our experts to guide you to finding your perfect gown. Hangers don’t always do the gowns justice, so if an element catches your eye and fits your wedding vibe we recommend being open to trying it on.
Try and limit who gets to share this special occasion with you by only bringing those who will be supportive and positive. Ultimately it is your gown. Let the reveal be for your wedding day!
Ask as many questions as you can and be honest with your stylist. Their job is to guide you to the perfect gown and they need to know exactly how you feel. You and the stylist will become BFF by the end of the appointment.
After you found the One!
Once you have found the one, just like after you found your fiance you don’t go looking for a new one. No more pinning gowns to your Pinterest page, just stop now. There are so many other things to plan and decide on that surround the gown, have fun with all the other details.
On Your Wedding Day
Don’t worry if your dress gets dirty or ripped, that’s what cleaning & preservation is for - JUST HAVE FUN!
If something doesn’t go as planned only you and your fiance know about it, don’t sweat the small things.
What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
Laura’s pick: A thigh-high slit in a full skirt, gives you an added element of sexiness even in a ballgown and you can show off your shoes.
Monika’s pick: Jumpsuits perfect for a small intimate wedding, elopement or a second look for the reception.
What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2021 collection and why?
Monika’s pick - Max: love the fluted silhouette, I’m a sucker for fitted gowns. The flutter lace sleeves are everything, it’s sleeves without having sleeves.
Laura’s pick - Mari: The perfect bishop sleeve and lace cuff with a great V-neckline front and back. The texture of the lace bodice that trails over the waistline on to the top of the skirt is so pretty. I love the design and the fabrication of this gown, very soft and feminine.
What wedding trends are you noticing brides doing in your area?
Weekend-long festivities: couples are making up for lost time due to Covid and are planning various events around the wedding - it’s not limited to only a few hours they spend with family and friends
