Sage Bridal Studio
A bride who was once searching for her dream dress turned her exploration into a place where dreams are made of. Kari Hughes, the owner of Sage Bridal Studio, created a space where inclusivity is welcomed and a place where you can make unforgettable memories. To all Rensselaer brides, if you want a personal and intimate bridal experience, visit their boutique 104 W Washington St, where you will for sure find your dream dress.
Why and how did you start Sage Bridal?
I started Sage Bridal Studio because I wanted to create a personal and unique bridal shopping experience in my small town of Rensselaer, IN. I have been an event planner for over a decade, and I love to create meaningful connections through the events I plan. Through my career, I have helped plan hundreds of weddings, and I have always adored working with brides. Sage Bridal Studio is my passion project to provide brides with one-on-one attention while providing a fun atmosphere to, “Say yes to the dress!”
Describe your boutique in four words.
FUN, diverse, comfortable and personal
What do you love most about your job?
I love connecting with brides and helping people! It is such a privilege to be a part of the experience of a bride finding her dress. We offer two-hour bridal appointments, because I really like to spend time getting to know a bride, her vision, and what is important to her on her wedding day.
What tips would you offer brides?
My best advice to brides is to stay true to what they love and don’t be afraid to love something different! It is so special when brides include friends and family in their appointments, but I always encourage them honor their own wishes above other’s opinions. At the end of the day – YOU have to wear the dress and will be featured most prominently in your wedding pictures, so wear what you love!
What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
Gloves, unique sleeves, and pops of color! I also love a detachable accessory – a dramatic bow or detachable sleeve can really change up your wedding day look!
What wedding trends are you noticing brides doing in your area?
Detachable sleeves have been a huge hit! Drop sleeves and flutter sleeves have also been highly requested.
