Two Dames Bridal
This month we're featuring a new vintage-styled boutique in Dublin Georgia, that opened a couple months ago, called Two Dames Bridal. Kelsey Dame, the owner, kindly answered some questions for us!
Why and how did you start Two Dames Bridal?
My love of fashion and dressing up was my reason for starting Two Dames Bridal. Growing up I was never not playing dress up or fashion show with my Barbies. I loved clothes, shoes, and red lipstick. I still do! Growing up in a family that had their minds set on business, I knew I wanted to start my own business as well. It has always been my dream to open a retail store, I just never knew what type exactly. By the time I graduated college with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, I knew that a bridal store was what I had in mind. I am a hopeless romantic that loves classic romantic movies, love, and weddings! So a wedding boutique was the perfect choice for me. I looked for months for a place while I worked for my grandparents business. I worked, planned, prayed, and saved. The right spot opened up and so here I am today, Kelsey Dame, the owner of the brand new and one and only bridal shop in Dublin, Georgia. I could not have done it without the help of my amazing family and business partner, my mother, Tammy Dame (hence the name Two Dames).
Describe your store in four words:
Feminine, vintage, unique, romantic.
What is your favourite part about your job?
I have two favourite things. Number one is the bridal appointments. I love getting to speak with brides about their big day, fiance, and what dress they see themselves in. I love the excitement and the smiles that the bride gets when you know she loves the dress. My second favorite part is unpacking the new dresses. Unpacking all the new gowns and inventory is just like Christmas!
What tips would you offer brides?
Buy the dress that makes you feel beautiful and that you love. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. It's your wedding day so wear what makes you, you.
What is your current favourite wedding dress trend?
I am loving the midi lengths styles on the fall runways. I have always loved anything vintage and the midi tea length dresses are speaking straight to my soul.
What is your favourite gown from the Lis Simon 2018 collection and why?
Jayne would have to be my favourite. My customers would say Joss, but I am a vintage classic kind of girl. I love the old Hollywood glamour vibe it has. The classic mermaid silhouette with the beautiful beaded bodice that has just the right amount of shear is to die for. I am not yet married, so hopefully when by beau puts a ring on it, I will be ordering a Jayne myself!
What do the next few months have in store for Two Dames?
In the next few months, we hope to expand into flower girl dresses, and we hope to expand into some classic bridal lingerie.
